Fiction Collection

The Library collected overseas published fiction until 1992. The Fiction Collection includes about 59,000 English language books written for adults. Items include popular fiction, crime, romance and detective stories.

Overseas fiction collected until 1992 includes:

• books written in English by established authors

• major new editions of fiction written in earlier periods

• crime, romance, horror and detective stories

• popular fiction.

The collection is stored off-site.

You can request items by using the "Request to view" button on the collection item page, or by contacting us. Items can be used in the Wellington Reading Room.

Copies can be made from items in this collection if copying doesn’t breach copyright. Photocopiers, and printers for microfiche and microfilm readers are available for use in the Library's Reading Room.
