Explore how to promote your expertise, services and resources in supporting teachers and students.

Who this workshop is for

This workshop is for:

  • School library staff

  • Teachers with Library Responsibility.

What you'll learn

Understand: The importance and place of the school librarian and school library in curriculum delivery with a focus on the histories curriculum content.

Know: Ways to promote your expertise and resources to connect with your school's implementation of the histories content.

Do: Communicate effectively with teaching colleagues using a range of strategies.

What you'll do

In this workshop, you will:

  • review your knowledge about our histories in the refreshed curriculum and how it's implemented in your school.

  • explore strategies and create resources that show your expertise and value.

  • reflect on what collaboration looks like in your school and how to develop new opportunities.

  • identify and plan how you'll gather and use feedback and evidence to show the impact of your work.

What's provided, what to bring

Morning tea is provided.

Bring:

  • a copy of Te ao tangata | Social sciences learning area

  • a copy of your school local curriculum plans for teaching Aotearoa New Zealand's histories

  • an Aotearoa New Zealand history book to bring and share.
