Mahi Whanake: A project to connect people to collections

In this online talk, Senior Archivist Merryn McAulay will explain how the cross library project team, Mahi Whanake, is preparing three significant acquisitions for access by researchers — the architectural records of John Scott, the final tranche of literary papers from C. K. Stead, and the papers of artist Shona Rapira Davies.
Mahi Whanake | Developing new ways of working
The Mahi Whanake team, named for the verb whanake | to grow, was formed in August 2022 to not only process three large and complex collections, but also test new ways of working by bringing together arrangement and description, conservation, and digitisation functions into one team with shared goals.
Hear how the team is going one year into the project and about the work they are doing to connect people with collections.
