Description

Shows a farmhouse on the brow of a hill, with bushy hill outlines beyond. The buildings, one double-storeyed and one single-storeyed with verandah, are behind a broken fence line. In the foreground are two cabbage trees at the left, and a line of low plants across the foreground.

Handwritten notes on the backing board identify Mr Preece as the Reverend J Preece, a missionary. Preece worked in the Thames-Coromandel area until he moved to the Urewera in 1847. (Backing board retained.)
