Description

Shows two roofed shelters without walls, and on the other side of them, a raised roofed structure, perhaps a storehouse. In the right foreground is a group of women and one man kneeling. One of the women has a tall drum between her legs, and some of the women are gesturing as if in dance. In the left background, is a view of the sea and a sailboat.

Plate 109 in Domeny de Rienzi's book. French edition (1835-36), has same plate and has the additional information that Danvin was the copyist. Chollet engraved the French version, but the engraver for the Italian version is not given (it may also have been Chollet).

Plate XIX in L Choris' "Voyage pittoresque autour du monde 1815-18" (1822), where it is attributed to Choris.
