How we consulted

From Thursday 14 July to Wednesday 31 August 2016, the National Library consulted with stakeholders and staff on its proposed strategic directions to 2030.

Positioning for the Future: Draft Strategic Directions to 2030 outlined three areas of focus for the National Library along with examples of potential programmes under these themes. The document set out a new way of working for the National Library with a strong focus on cross-sector collaboration to ensure the best possible outcomes for New Zealanders. Stakeholders were asked to comment on the overall directions as well as the specific initiatives proposed, and to reflect on the role of the National Library.

Analysis of consultation feedback is presented in the Summary of Submissions report, with an introductory Message from the National Librarian.

All submissions have been made publicly available according to the provisions of the Official Information Act (1982) via the New Zealand Government website.
