Digital copies of two books written by Murray Clyde Meikle titled 'A New Britain in the South Pacific, The life and times of a New Zealand immigrant family' volumes one and two. The books relate to the Meikle family's immigration and life in New Zealand. The volumes include a broader view on the history of New Zealand from pre 1840 through to 1918 and the close of World War One. The text of both books is illustrated with scanned copies of photographs, paintings, and maps from various sources.

New Zealand born Murray Clyde Meikle was inspired by his aunt Peggy Meikle's work 'From England, Scotland, and Wales They Come' to write his own account of his immigrant forebears, including the Meikle, Murray, Lowe, Griffiths, Gow, and Woods families, set against a history of Aotearoa New Zealand.
