Commentary from the artist: 'The latest evidence [gunpowder on Robin Bain's thumb] is surely enough reason to pardon and compensate David Bain. Or will Judith Collins thumb her nose at that, too, in the same way she thumbed her nose at Canadian Judge Binnie at the time of his independent Report.' The Canadian judge Binnie reads a letter of apology from Judith Collins and remarks 'This is so moving...(gulp)...not at all what I'd expect from a bilious tax lawyer from Auckland'.
In a continuation of the claim by David Bain's supporters for compensation for possible wrongful imprisonment, on 27 June 2013, the New Zealand Police dismissed unclear marks on photographs of Robin Bain's thumb which some of the David Bain supporters claimed to have been gunpowder marks.
