On acquisition by the Library this lithograph was thought to be the work of William Fox. Instead it is the cover illustration for Table Rock Schottisch, piano music by John Cooke, (New York, Jacques and Brother, 1852). Likely to have been given to or purchased by Fox during his visit to Niagara in 1853
