Donor to the Library in 1958. Resident at Ohingaiti. Owner of large collection of William Fox watercolours. Mr & Mrs J. C. Wilkie placed the collection on loan with the Library in 1964 and in 1973, the Library purchased the collection, with a few items going to Wilkie family members. Mr Wilkie's mother was Fox's god-daughter, Annie Campbell, who inherited the watercolours from Fox. Son of John Mitchell Wilkie and Barbara Ann Campbell.

Description: A view from the lower end of the glacier, painted when Fox was Premier at the time of his visit in 1872. The glacier was originally called the Albert Glacier, but was renamed in Fox's honour. The aspect is looking upwards towards the Southern Alps, but viewed from above.
