Papers relating to claims in the Ikaroa district, specifically the Ngarara Block comprising a large part of Waikanae and the adjacent Kapiti Coast area.
Consists of minutes of witnesses evidence from New Zealand Native Land Commission proceedings to determine customary Maori ownership of the Ngarara Block. Contains testimonies from witnesses and participants in the Kuititanga Battle 1839. Some papers from earlier hearing in 1873.
