A two-storied house in a large cleared section, with a bush-clad hill behind it.
The home of Mrs Jane Symons (nee Morshead), later Mrs J. F. F. Wright. The house was originally built by Judge Halswell and managed by James Symons, then purchased by Symons, who died in 1851. The same house was also depicted by S. C. Brees in the early 1840s (Residence of his Honour Judge Halswell ... No. 61). It stood on Section 28, Ohiro, approximately the modern site of Brooklyn School in Washington Avenue, Brooklyn. See TL3/1/1/2 9 March 1984; see also Ward, L. Early Wellington, p. 283
