Description

Shows five figures from various Pacific Islands arranged in a group as if in the same place, an island setting. The man of Tahiti wears a white shirt and blue skirt and carries a pole over his right shoulder with coconuts loaded on to each end of it. The young woman of the Viti Islands is seated on the ground at lower left, barebreasted with a grass skirt, necklaces and pink hibiscus flowers in her hair. The woman of Upolu wears a blue skirt, and her upper body is wrapped in a white blanket revealing both breasts. The woman of Rotuma is barebreasted and wears a white skirt. Her hair is styled in a topknot with a green leaf protruding from behind her right ear; she carries a branch of leaves in her right hand. The bearded man of the Iros Islands wears a loin cloth and necklace and holds a paddle. His hair is in a topknot and he is heavily tattooed on limbs and torso.
