Scope note

Traditional style laments, to express the emotions felt at the loss of a beloved person or object. Note that outside the context of Nga Upoko Tukutuku, Mōteatea is often used as a general term for songs sung in traditional mode. See also Waiata koroua and specific modes of Waiata koroua.
