George Rainbow was born 27 May 1910 at Te Hana, near Kaipara. Describes his family background, childhood and education. Discusses working as a Warehouseman for Irving Clark Ltd, Auckland and a Storeman/Packer for Oswald M Smith, Auckland, both grocery wholesalers. Details his career as a Storeman/Packer and Supervisor with L D Nathan and Co Ltd, Auckland, 1932-1972. Talks about army service during WWII and being manpowered to the AFCO freezing works, Southdown. Speaks about the personnel in the companies and the grocery trade throughout those years.
