Shows a farmer on horseback mustering a small herd of cows across a river near Picton. There is a footbridge across the river to his right. A house, possibly his own, stands near the banks. Tall hills rise in the background
The painting was exhibited at the Royal Society of New South Wales exhibition, 1899, and at the Otago Art Society, 1899
