- Description
A woman tells her friend that "Someone sent Gerald that French newspaper" while Gerald reads it and comments that "I'd have to say there are bigger things to get excited about". The newspaper is labelled 'Les Snaps de Kate' and refers to a French newspaper, Closer, publishing photographs of the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, on holiday in France wearing only a bikini bottom. The photos were condemned as an invasion of privacy by St James's Palace and it received widespread media coverage amid claims of paparazzi invasion of privacy, in a manner that was claimed to parallel the coverage of Princess Diana. The cartoonist uses a double entendre to refer to the size of the Duchess's breasts.
