Featured events include: the flooding of the Otira River (Dec 1957) with damaged infrastructure; the visit of a United States Air Force jet as part of the Royal New Zealand Air Force 21st Anniversary celebrations (Mar 1958); Main Trunk Line 50th anniversary celebrations (1958), including Ohakune lunch, Taumarunui dinner, and a Rangataua scene (6 Nov 1948) as well as a parade in Taumarunui (8 Nov 1958); the opening of the Greymouth Automatic Telephone Exchange (14 Nov 1958); the first of the Railway Road Services new fleet of omnicoaches and the opening of a Railway Road Services garage in Rotorua (Dec, 1958); the visit of a United States Air Force jet for the Royal New Zealand Air Force 21st Anniversary celebration (Mar 1958); a pre-Christmas function at Moohan's office (Dec 1958); and the Milson Railway Deviation in Palmerston North (22 May 1959). The first clipping concerns the government's budget and the other is a photograph of Labour Party members of parliament looking at Fur Dressers and Dyers (New Zealand) products while on a tour of Dunedin and Otago industrial concerns..
