Description

Shows David Cunliffe's head on top of a volcano labelled Mount Cunliffe with a cork in its mouth. David Shearer walks away gleefully, saying, 'Hopefully that'll quell any further eruptions'. Refers to a small eruption of Mount Tongariro on 21 November 2012, and divisions within the Labour party, where David Cunliffe challenged the leadership of party leader David Shearer. Shearer won a confidence vote, and Cunliffe was demoted to the unranked section of caucus. (Stuff.co.nz, 20 Nov 2012)
