Description: Includes sketches of Plimmerton, Mana, Kapiti, Waikato River below the rapids, the mountains of the Central Plateau, a view of the Central Plateau from the summit of Mount Tongariro, a view from near the Ketetahi Crater, the Crater Lake on Ruapehu, Waihohomo at twilight, double portrait of Gilfedder and Jones, a panorama of Taupo. There are also handwritten notes about the eruption of Ruapehu on 15 March 1906, a sketch of Rangitahau and notes aboutt aking the tapu off a whare. Dating: Albin Martin and his wife Jemima married in England in 1841, spending the next two years based in Italy in the Naples area. The work is likely to date to the period 1841-1843.
