- Description
A school teacher, looking at the words `'League tables' scrawled in graffiti fashion on the school walls, says 'Sorry kids - those ignorant mongels have struck again...' Running away are two children whose jackets read 'JK' and 'HP'. The name of the school is given as 'Seigeville'.
The Minister of Education, Hekia Parata ('HK') and the Prime Minister, John Key ('JK') proposed to measure national standards in education by introducing 'league tables' of individual schools. This was opposed by many in the education profession, especially teachers, who felt themselves 'under seige' by the Ministry of Education.
