Description

A satirical painting probably occasioned by the pomp of the recent Coronation of George III. Architectural construction of an orderly periwig, shown by 23 explained examples, parodying the architectural orders in design books. The bottom part of the `advertisement' represents the head of six ladies, from the lowest to the highest, according to the rank of precedence, showing the various ways of dressing the female head.
