- Description
Shows a group of Australian aborigines in a street of Sydney, near the harbour (ship masts can be seen in the left background). A sign for George Street is attached to a house wall at the extreme right. Members of the group are making a bucket of "bull" (alcoholic drink made from an old sugar bag which is soaked and fermented). European patrons come and go from a hotel in the background, displaying a sign of a kangaroo. A fishseller at the right carries a basket of fish on his head, and a female aboriginal carrying a baby on her back, has a fish in her right hand. Other bare-breasted women are seated on the ground, and there are two drink bottles in the centre foreground.
