Cunningham writes a partly retrospective account of his service with Wellington Infantry Battalion, his training in New Zealand in 1914, the voyage to Alexandria on board TS `Maunganui', training and manoeuvres there, his departure for Lemnos, and Gallipoli in Apr 1915
