Description

Shows a view of the town from the nearby fields, with the main road from Gore to the left, a side road, All Saints Anglican Church at the far right, and another church on the street at the left. There is a horse in the paddock at the right and a telegraph pole on a lean in the foreground. The town lies on relatively flat land with hills in the background.

Thought to be Tapanui by the donor, 1 March 1985. The churches at right and left are similar to the churches in another privately owned work by S E Green entitled "Tapanui". (See file print in Drawings & Prints).

Dated from another painting of the town by Green, done in 1881.

All Saints Anglican Church in Tapanui was built in 1878
