Back view of the artist's intended house (never built) at the foot of The Terrace, showing gables, a verandah and windows
The lower of two drawings on one page of the artist's proposed house. The upper view includes additional pencilled-in chimney designs 'to puzzle the earthquakes'. Other material related to the house is dated 1854. The artist was in Wellington during the severe 1855 earthquake and returned to England in 1856, hence the suggested dating of the drawing
