Topographic map of the southern half of the North Island, with especial emphasis on the Wairarapa valley, showing natural features and stands of timber; the Maori names for some of these features are given, together with names and locations of some pa . Includes the surveyors' route which began on 1st. June, ca. 1848, from a site along the Manawatu River to the Ruamahanga River, Lake Wairarapa, ending at the Hutt River on 20 June. Notes describe some topographic features.
