- Description
The cartoon is an advertisement for an imaginary film called 'The HURT locker - a true story of bomb disposal in a war zone'. The image in the advertisement is of Education Minister Anne Tolley dressed in army fatigues and whacking at a half-buried bomb that represents the 'Education Standards "Debate" with a hammer. She is just outside the door of the Teachers' Union' rooms. Reviews of the film say that it is 'explosively real' and is 'stretched both timewise and for plausibility'. Refers to the debate over the effectiveness of the 'Education Standards' that the government is introducing this year, the 'hurt' that it could do some schools and students (particularly Maori) and the stouch that is gaining force between the teachers' unions and the government.
