Poster shows two inset pictures: one a reproduction of a sketch by Alfred Barker of a view over the Avon River towards the Port Hills; and the lower one a photograph from a high point, of High Street with Ashby Bergh & Co Ltd in the centre. There is a sign above the rooftops for Strange & Company, drapers and furnishers, in an adjacent street. A gasometer can ben seen at the far end of High Street (on Moorhouse Avenue).
The poster was produced by the Empire Marketing Board in Britain to promote trade amongst countries of the British Empire.
