- Description
The cartoon shows Minister of Fisheries Phil Heatley falling on his sword which he says 'will minimise the damage for my colleagues...' The end of the sword pricks Prime Minister John Key who yelps and tells him to 'be careful with that thing, Phil...' Refers to the misuse of ministerial credit cards by Gerry Brownlee, Minister of Energy, and Phil Heatley, Minister of Fisheries. Both repaid and apologised. Phil Heatley resigned his portfolio. There is a suspicion that Phil Heatley has been punished more severely in order to protect others in the same boat.
