Description

A view of the facade of the Kelburn or Skyline Tea Kiosk building facing the city. In the background is a wireless mast on the top of Tinakori Hill. At the far right is the dome of a small observatory dome set in a concrete base. There are two houses on the slopes below the kiosk at lower right.

Date estimated from the fact that a probable former owner, John Munro, died in 1916. John Munro was a friend or pupil of the artist, and it is likely that the painting was formerly owned by him. The Kelburn Kiosk was built in 1904.
