- Description
Copies of letters written by McLean in his capacity of Inspector of Police and Land Commissioner. They relate to policing issues, Maori and land purchases in Wanganui, Turakina, Rangitikei and Manawautu districts. Includes copy of a list of chiefs who received payment of 500 pounds, being the second instalment due as per deed of sale of the Rangitikei and Whangaehu districts, 10 Jul 1850. In the front of the volume is a chronological index listing correspondent and subject matter of each letter.
