Snapshots relating to Alice Brown, taken in Fiji and Samoa circa 1920s to 1930s.
A few of the images have pencilled captions on the back, but most have no information.
Many of the scenes show everyday life in Fiji, including burning off (sugar cane?); meke dancers; various kinds of fruits and vegetables; thatched dwellings; church buildings; net fishing; young boys climbing up coconut palms; a yacht race; Fijians and Fijian Indians; and Europeans swimming and picnicking.
Samoan scenes include Robert Louis Stevenson's tomb; a Roman Catholic Church near Apia; thatched houses; a group of European women having a picnic on a lawn, and on a beach wearing swimsuits.
There are 20 looses photographs inserted at the end of the album, some of which had originally been attached.
