Description: Card from an Auckland restaurant shows an illustration by David Kennedy, of three circular tables in a restaurant. Under each table sit men in suits, purporting to be table supports but in fact all drinking alcohol surreptitiously. In the background a policeman has opened the door and is looking in to check for illicit drinking. The text reads: "It has been said that our liquor laws are out of date, but at least they give rise to one of the most charming New Zealand customs ... under-the-table drinking".
