Shows the crests of the Otago 4th regiment in South Africa in 1901-02 at top left; the crest of the North Otago Rifles, 10th regiment at top right, the XIV Kia Kaha crest with eagle at the centre bottom, and at lower right and left, crossed rifles with wreaths for battles at Egypt 1915, Gallipoli 1915, Armentieres 1916, Somme 1916, Messines 1917, Passchendaele 1917, Picardy 1918, and Bapaume 1918.
