Description: Street with row of houses behind picket fence, with soldiers from barracks next door marching past, with another soldier on horseback in the street. A Maori adult and child watch from the right and the harbour is shown at the end of the street with a tower-like construction. In the original watercolour on which the engraving is based, this tower is a sailing ship. In: Brees, S C Pictorial Illustrations of New Zealand.
