Most material relates to the period 1987-1993 when Davies was the MP for Pencarrow but a small amount relates to issues of peace and women, 1962 to 1993. Collection comprises papers relating to Davies' activities and duties on the Women's Affairs, Maori Affairs, Foreign Affairs and Defence, Health, Education and Social Welfare caucus sub-committees; electorate matters including running the electorate office and Pencarrow electorate Labour Party branches and material relating to a wide range of issues Davies was involved with including human rights, peace, development aid, international relations, women's employment, education and health, abortion, pay equity, violence against women, domestic violence and also electorate and parliamentary issues including immigration, medication charges, police, schools and closure of post offices. Also includes correspondence, copies of speeches and questions asked in the house, speeches given outside the house, material relating to issues affecting Wellington and Lower Hutt areas and relating to groups that Davies was involved with including the Women's Refuge Trust, Labour Women's Council, World Women Parliamentarians for Peace and the United Nations Conference in Nairobi.

Processing information: Series 13 was added in June 2022 when audiovisual material, which had previously been transferred to Oral History and Sound, was described as part of the Utaina project and reunited with the larger collection. The collection was updated to a multi-format collection at this time.
