Description: Shows a field where cows are grazing, with Mt Taranaki in the background, as having been turned into Republic Petroleum oilmines, with suction devices similar to those used to milk cows. The accompanying news quote reads: "Upwards of fifty oil wells could be drilled in the Moturoa oilfields ..." Oil was first discovered at Moturoa oil field in 1866 and was one of the first to produce oil anywhere in the world.
