Description: The papers comprise statements made by Dawson in Jul and Nov 1998 in which he attempts to set the record straight about controversy over the design of Wellington Cathedral. He discusses the background to the cathedral building project, the various people involved and refers in particular to criticisms made by Roy Wilson of Warren and Mahoney. Also included is a correspondence file, mostly of letters between Christchurch architect, Cecil Wood, and Wellington Cathedral's Canon Malcolm, on various aspects of the proposed design (1938-1939). Source of title - Supplied Dawson, of King & Dawson, was appointed architect of Wellington Cathedral about 1959 following Robert Munro's death and continued until 1984 when he retired.
