Blessing of new war memorial in the rain by the local Catholic priest during commemoration of Blackball strike. 2nd from left, Tony Kokshoorn, mayor of Grey District. 3rd from the left, Damien O'Connor MP. There was no previous memorial in Blackball because of strong anti-militarist feelings among the miners.
