Description

Piece of tree branch covered in bark with scorch marks and lead bullet embedded. The branch was retrieved from a battle site in the village of Fagali'i, Upolu.

Original paper label reads "Part of a tree from Fagalii received from a man that went yesterday evening". A second label attached with twine reads "Souvenir from the battle of Fagalii, Samoa, between Germans & Samoans on Decr 18 1888".
