Description: Photographs fall into two general groups. One group relates to aerial battles at sea with views of aircraft on the decks of carriers, in the air, dog fights indicated by vapour trails, sinking ships, troops dropped by paracutes, and burning buildings. The other, larger group, were taken while Ian Harper was serving with J Force, part of the British Commonwealth Occupation Force, Japan. During this time he was a driver in the Transport Section of Headquarters Company, 27 Battalion based in Yamaguchi. Photographer(s) unidentified. None of the photographes are identified, except for an aerial view of Camp Canturbury Barracks at Yamaguchi. Quantity: 97 b&w original photographic print(s).

Description: Piece of tree branch covered in bark with scorch marks and lead bullet embedded. The branch was retrieved from a battle site in the village of Fagali'i, Upolu. Original paper label reads "Part of a tree from Fagalii received from a man that went yesterday evening". A second label attached with twine reads "Souvenir from the battle of Fagalii, Samoa, between Germans & Samoans on Decr 18 1888". Title transcribed from item. Quantity: 1 object(s). Physical Description: Section of tree branch with lead bullet embedded, 30 mm in diameter and 155 mm in length.
