Photographs relating to the Canterbury earthquakes of 2010 and 2011 taken by Ross Becker on 15 October 2011 in the Christchurch Central City (CBD) Red Zone showing earthquake damage, bracing on buildings, street views and intersections, shipping containers, diggers and cranes at work, and rubble.
Identified buildings include: Warner's Hotel, ACC building, Allan McLean, Bowker Fountain, Copthorne Hotel, Christchurch Cathedral, old Post Office, Millennium Hotel, BNZ, Kaplan House, AMI Insurance, St John the Baptist, Medlab, Southern Star, Hotel Grand Chancellor, Clarendon Tower, Edmonds Band Rotonda, Heritage Hotel.
Images of note include: Moira Fraser kneeling near a deep ground fissure in Victoria Square and on an exercycle, Ross Becker photographing on Oxford Terrace, graffiti "26 Feb 1538 hrs Taiwan", interior views of Centennial Swimming-pool, and interior views of scattered CDs on floor in Christchurch Central Library.
