Poster shows an arrangement of text, with an illustration of a pink apple between two sections of text.
Date estimated with reference to the article in the Auckland Star, 1 May 1918, page 6, where the purpose of the National Apple Show is explained, and a very detailed description and review of the whole 1918 show is given. Although production had increased in previous years, the War meant that exports had become virtually nil, and the show was intended to increase local consumption. The first show was held in Wellington, the second in Dunedin, and the third, in 1918, in Auckland. As well as apples, other fruits were shown, and exhibits came from most regions of the country. "Among the features of the show is a magnificent display by the Agricultural Department, comprising the products of the horticultural stations at Tauranga, Te Kauwhata and Arataki. The exhibit is made up largely of apples, pears, honey and wines".
