- Description
All scenes possibly taken in the Aramoho or Eastown, Wanganui area. Several men are seen digging up food cooked in a hangi; steam rising (frames 2 to 4) with the basket of cooked food lying on the ground (frame 4). A woman and a small boy are sitting by a wire fence watching proceedings (frames 5 to 9. The area is flat with railway lines visible on the right behind the fence (frames 5 & 6); a hill behind a house on the left and there are tall Shell Petrol tanks in the background (frames 1 & 2) A young girl is seen in frame 10 outside the house by the hangi, and sitting on the bonnet of a car (frame 12). A young man wearing & tipare (head band) is leanindg against the car (frame 11). Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
