All images taken at the Dowse Art Gallery, Lower Hutt, during the opening of an exhibition of a major series of works on Parihaka by Selwyn Muru. Scenes at the beginning of this sequence show people on the outskirts of the Dowse Gallery area watching proceedings (frames 1 to 5). People identified in the images who are linked with the ceremony include Ngahina Okeroa, Huirangi Waikerepuru, and Marjorie Rau-Kupa coming towards the welcoming party (frames 7 to 12, with Whetu Tirikatene-Sullivan seated to their right). In frame 12: Bruce Stewart (with beard, lying down); Don Selwyn (centre), and Rawiri Paratene (carrying a child, on the right). Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified.
