- Date
- 1976
- Reference

- Description
All frames taken during a night procession by people protesting against the 1976 rugby tour to South Africa in which the All Blacks finally toured with Māori and Samoan players as "honorary whites." Frames 1 to 8 were probably taken in Cuba Street, showing protestors and bystanders. Placards and banners include a "Values Party" banner; a group wearing masked caricatures of a South African official, the New Zealand Prime Minister Rob Muldoon and South African Prime Minister John Vorster, and All Blacks Grant Batty and Tane Norton with placards reading "All White's alright, eh Rob?"; "Sure Vorster, It's N.Z. the way you want it"; "Don't worry Tane, you're an Honorary White" and "I can't play rugby with Tane in South Africa". Frames 9 to 12 were possibly taken on the steps of the Wellington Town Hall. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
