Description

All frames taken during a night procession by people protesting against the 1976 rugby tour to South Africa in which the All Blacks finally toured with Māori and Samoan players as "honorary whites." Placards include "Ka whawhai tonu matou. Ake! Ake! Ake!"; "Think about apartheid. Stop the tour"; "Oppose apartheid. Stop the tour. VUW HART"; "Muldoon's racism out now!"; "Apartheid means human suffering"; "Play a dead mans game. Apartheid"; and "Support Olympic principles." Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
