Description

Transparencies of bridges in New Zealand, taken by Geoffrey Thornton or Jocelyn Thornton. Each slide mount is annotated with the subject (bridge or viaduct name, and/or river/stream name, and/or road name) and location. Dates and photographer name are often but not always annotated.

Many slides are not dated.

Arrangement: Transparencies were arranged in an upright slide container with two rows of slide drawers, comprising 10 slide drawers in total. Slides were arranged in the container largely alphabetically either by bridge or river name, or location name, and possibly also by type of bridge. Slides were physically arranged from top to bottom and across both rows. The container was labelled as follows: "Concrete 1 - 5 | Stone Arch 6 - 7 | Steel Arch 8 also Brick | Stone Arch Concrete Arch 2 - pt 5 | Concrete Girder pt 5-6".

Quantity: 24 colour original transparency/ies.

Physical Description: Colour transparencies in plastic and cardboard slide mounts.

Processing information: Slides have been removed from container and put into archival pockets, following the original order, from left to right and top to bottom.
