Firefighting beside an unidentified sports field, and, Kilbirnie Park

Frame one shows a wide field at an unidentified location in which several vehicles are parked; long hoses are snaking across the grass with a man using a high pressure jet onto a fire behind a fence on the far side of the field in which there are a couple of sports posts. Billowing smoke is seen all along the fence-line blocking much of a view onto steep farmed hills in the background. A small group of people are watching from behind a fence on the near side of the field. Frames 2 to 12 show people in Kilbirnie Park for a summer holiday perfomance of Vargo's Circus performed by members of theatrical group Red Mole. A man is playing bagpipes in frames 2 to 3 and 7 to 10. Another man is playing a drum with a large sign reading "Wellington Lowland Pipe Band." Frames 4 to 6 show women sitting in the sun leaning against a corrugated building, with a partially visible sign which reads "Vargo's Circus, sponsored by ...R. Glass & Co. Ltd."
